Faith Martin

Faith McBurney Martin is an English author who was born in Oxford. She currently is living on a narrow boat. She is best known for her popular detective series, starring DI Hillary Greene.

Hillary Greene Series

Faith Martin is best known for writing a series of books set around Oxfordshire CID, with the starring character being DI Hillary Greene.^[1] Hillary Greene lives on a narrow boat, and this is a link to why all of the books in her series - currently 11 - have the word 'narrow' in the title.

Black star Crime

The Hillary Greene books were fairly successful when they were first released by Faith Martin, although they never really got much attention. However, in 2008, Blackstar Crime republished 'A Narrow Escape' and the book was a huge success. It was a major success and they have now released 'On the Straight and Narrow' in paper back too.
